Board Advisor
Dr. Michel José Charles
I assist the Founder and CEO of the Kedner Stiven Foundation in formulating long-range objectives, in planing and initiating short-term projects. I know I ought to be a resource person in my role. That makes me evaluate projects, offer guidance by reviewing goals and performance while tracking progress based on the mission and vision of the organization. At the same time, I cooperate with colleague Board Advisors and the other members.
I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and graduated as a Medical Doctor (MD) in Mexico. I am multilingual. The four main languages I speak fluently are: Haitian Creole, French, English, and Spanish. What motivates me to serve at the Kedner Stiven Foundation is the fact that, by calling, I care for other people and want them to be well, just like I do these innocent little children we think of every day within the organization.
I participate in additional humanitarian work:
- Served as a Counselor and Advisor, while performing various preventative medicine functions as a public health agent.
- Volunteer on several medical missions venturing to Haiti, Guyana, Jamaica, Grenada, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic.
- Am the Vice President of the Haitian Medical Association Abroad, or AMHE, for Association Médicale Haïtienne à l’Étranger.
- Am a Board Member for the Aesclepius Medical Society, Inc.
Oh! I have seen enough disparities globally to tell that ethnicity and social class often determine them. This is why I show compassion and concern for humanity, especially the underprivileged to whom I dedicate my life.
I feel successful by most standards and that humbles me as I give credit to my mother, and remain thankful to my family because they love me unconditionally.
Feel free to contact me if you speak Spanish.
